Grassroots has been recognized again as a “Best For The World 2019” B Corp for Governance and Customers

For the second consecutive year, Grassroots has been named as a Best For The World honoree, ranking in the top 10% of all 3,000 B Corps for our positive impact in governance and on our customers.

Grassroots earned the top 10% ranking in governance because of our overall mission, ethics, accountability, and transparency. The Governance portion measures how we engage our employees, board members and the community to achieve our mission and also assesses employee access to financial information, customers’ opportunities to provide feedback, and the diversity of the company’s governing bodies.

Grassroots earned the top 10% ranking for our positive impact on our customers because our investments promote public benefit and are designed to solve social and environmental issues. Grassroots does this through our investments in microfinance, SMEs, sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, affordable education, food security and health protection to reach the underserved populations in Latin America, Asia and Africa.

Best For The World recognition is administered by B Lab, the global nonprofit that certifies and supports Certified B Corporations. B Corps meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corp Certification doesn’t just evaluate a product or service, it assesses the overall positive impact of the company that stands behind it—like Grassroots.
