Prospero Microfinanzas Fund Receives Top GIIRS Rating

 In Blog, News

We are pleased to announce Prospero‘s third annual updated GIIRS rating! All Prospero’s portfolio companies achieved an average Overall B Score of 138 (Outstanding), up almost 10% from the previous year’s average of 127.

Prospero’s portfolio companies attained the highest (Platinum) ratings for their Impact Business Models, specifically in the impact areas of Governance, Community, and Customers. They also received the highest Operations ratings (5 stars) in Governance and Community. We are very impressed by our portfolio companies’ continued top performance, particularly EDPYME Acceso (Peru), Fundenuse SA (Nicaragua), and Sembrar Sartawi (Bolivia), which gained increases of 20-50% over the last assessment.

Prospero is a firm believer in standards and benchmarks to measure and compare social and environmental performance as rigorously as financial performance, which is why Prospero is a GIIRS Pioneer Fund, has been GIIRS-rated since its first fund-in-formation rating in 2012, and was recognized as a top-50 fund for its Impact Business Models in the 2016 Best for the World list. For more on the GIIRS rating methodology, click here.
